March 8/Water Conservation Garden

Today was one of those absolutely beautiful days. I still appreciate these 75 and sunny days, even after having lived in San Diego for over two years.

I went to an amazing WaterWise landscaping class this morning. It was educational and left me feeling inspired to get to work on my garden. To keep the momentum going, Pat and I visited the Water Conservation Garden down in El Cajon for some ideas.

We strolled around the gardens, pointing out the plants we’d like for our own garden. I’m gaining an appreciation for SoCal native plants, which isn’t hard this time of year when so many beautiful plants are in bloom.

Next on the garden to-do list is replacing our irrigation heads, creating a landscape plan and plant list, meeting with a landscape designer, and applying for the Turf Replacement program!
